What is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (DACBR)?

Doctors of Chiropractic may specialize in radiology and provide diagnostic imaging consultation in clinical or educational settings. Chiropractic radiologists often serve their clients in private practice, imaging centers, and teaching institutions to provide diagnostic imaging interpretation to assist in patient care or in academic training. The quality of consultative services provided by a chiropractic radiologist is set by the high standards required to obtain certification.

The American Chiropractic Board of Radiology (ACBR) is the credentialing body that confers diplomate status to candidates who wish to specialize in the field of radiology through certification. Qualified candidates include those with doctorate-level training (Doctor of Chiropractic, or equivalent) who complete a qualified 3-year diagnostic imaging residency, among other requirements. Those candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and pass the two-part Certification Examinations earn the credential Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology, or DACBR (Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Radiology) ® to denote their expertise in the field of diagnostic imaging, particularly as it applies to chiropractic clinical practice.
